ele > self-imposed enchantment/spell
to give us eles more fire-power and efficiency again, I had an interesting idea (searched for it, but didnt seem to be here before)
you know there are
single target spells and
AoEs (enemy as target, or dot/where you stand)
AoEs got pretty worthless in PvE due to KI-update.
to make this type of spells more efficient and valuable again, I thought of a new form of AoE aka self-imposed enchantment/spell with yourself as the source of the spell/dmg. thus youd be a wandering plague
u cast your spell (standing)
and start to move towards a group of enemys (speed might be increased due to ranger/warrior/assasin or air-ele skills)
you do AoE damage to the enemies and when they spread, because of the AoE u can hunt/follow single enemys inflicting damage and beat them down
-> u might fear 3 eles who storm chase at you and keep on following you
with the right balance, it would add another new variant of ele

yes, but it would certainly be an improvement for us eles who are "supposed" to be kinda dmg-dealers

Err...are you talking about mobile period AoE skills, like balthazar's aura? I don't know what you mean by being better, as BA still causes the same scattering effect as a ranged AoE such as firestorm, but it just means you, the squishy, has to enter melee range to utilise it.
Eles already have point-blank AoEs, like inferno, flame burst, lava font, etc..

Thats because to many eles think that fire is the end-all be-all for damage. I have 3 different builds, frie earth and air (stil working on a water build). Shockwave (earth) 159 + armor ignoring damage for the guys in you face. Lightning touch, 105 points when combined with a water hex. Frozen Burst 116 points plus 10 second slowing, Starburst (granted it's fire) 119 to everyone to close.
So tell me how many attack do you know that do 100+ damage.
It is all about know your enemy, don't use fire against titians in RoF and don't use frozen in Droks.
All damage is based on 16 levels in that element.
IMO, rangers are suposed to be the anti ele

that might be true, but u can choose only one element, not three
the other thing is, that u have to reequip often if u switch between elements. u can concentrate on a certain element in a certain area, sure, but the mobs will always be mixed type.
the ele, atm, is a static caster.
with skills who work like balthasars aura, he would offer a more dynamic gameplay

Are we talking PvP or PvE, because Balthazar's Aura will cause the AoE, Sheild of Judgment works better. Then there is burning speed "For 5 seconds, you are set on fire and move 30...42% faster. When Burning Speed ends, all adjacent foes are set on fire for 3...8 seconds." Although it is 46 and 9 at lvl 16.
An ele version of BA, sounds interesting.
When in doubt go air.
Re-equiping can be simplified the build I usually use a dual element build lightning/water and fire/earth, this requires minimum swaping, so I have a water rune and an earth rune. If I go total earth then I don't use fire at at all. All I swap is the head piece.
